My Last Tip on Earning Money from Focus Groups

Wednesday, October 5th, 2011

Focus GroupIn my recent blogs, I’ve posts several tips on earning money from focus groups. To completely gain most income, here’s my last suggestion to you.

Always arrive early! Arriving thirty minutes ahead of time will allow you to sign in and get settled without being rushed.  Do a little research, and try to figure out the topic of the focus group before you receive your pre-screening call. Frequently you will need to fill out a short online survey before you receive a pre-screening call. Based on the online survey questions, you should be able to get a pretty good idea of the topic. For example if the online survey asks you a lot of questions about sports drinks, you can reasonable assume that the focus group will be about sports drinks. With this information, you fit the answers you give in the pre-screening calls to give you a greater chance of being selected for the focus group. You always want to answer yes to the question, “Are you the main grocery buyer in your house”. If they ask you “How often you drink sports drinks”, you would want to answer “Every single day!” Most people don’t take the time to figure out with the focus group will be about. Doing so will give you a heads up and allow you to qualify for more studies.

Tip #2 on Earning Money from Focus Groups: Complete Information

Monday, October 3rd, 2011

paid surveys, money online, paid survey, paid online surveys, paid online surveyTo help you make the most of paid focus groups, I’ve put together a list of tips and helpful information. Here’s my second tip about market research where you can earn hundreds of dollars.

Enter in your information honestly and completely. Legitimate companies will not sell or use your information other than to contact you or analyze demographic information in survey results. Entering in fake information could keep you from getting paid; a cheque could get mailed to the wrong address. Always register with your real phone number, and consider giving out your mobile phone number. You can get away with a fake phone number with most online paid survey companies; however it is crucial when signing up with focus groups that you use your correct contact number. When a company wants to invite you to participate they will need to contact you via phone for the final pre-screening questions. If they can’t get in contact with you, then you may have missed out on a great paying opportunity. Completely fill out your member profile with every company. While you usually do not get paid for doing this, it will allow you to receive and qualify for more surveys.

Finding and Qualifying for Focus Groups

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011

Focus GroupI will now move on to another way to earn money for sharing your opinion. This is my personal favorite – attending focus groups. It is often referred to as market research, is closely related to online surveys but usually done with a group of people. Focus groups can take place in an online forum or can be made in person at a designated area. Literally, there are thousands of focus groups every day throughout Australia. As mentioned, with paid surveys, you just simply select an answer and move on to the next question while with focus groups, which is designed to be a discussion of a certain product or idea; you have all the opportunity of communicating your ideas and opinions with others in the group.

A significant difference between the online surveys and focus groups is the payment fee. Focus groups pay 10 to 20 times more than those online surveys, sometimes even a hundred times more. I strongly recommend changing your plans to integrate focus groups into your day when you are invited to participate. It is where the real money is and you can easily make a hundred or two hundred dollars for a single session.

Finding Focus Groups

Your regular payment of the paid surveys companies may be asked you, once in a while, to participate in an online focus group. Since those invitations are few and far between, you should search out for more focus groups on your own way.

You may at least perform an internet search for focus groups as well as market research groups in your area or look for focus groups and market research in your local newspaper. Search on Craigslist or local Gumtrees listings. You can also consult your local yellow pages and let your fingers do the walking. Don’t miss any luck, try checking local job boards. You can find a large database of focus groups located in Australia in this “A Guide to Australian Paid Surveys” package. Just browse through the list and join those available in your area.

In spite the fact that you do online surveys most often, its focus groups that can really adds up your profits.

Qualifying for Focus Groups

To qualify for focus groups, you have to register with companies that hosting focus group as you do with paid surveys companies. Make it sure that you provide accurate contact information and even consider giving a mobile number.

Company needs to contact you before they accept you for each focus group. They begin to call people at random until they found enough people who will fit in a specific demographic group. Therefore, you should always give good contact information, because when they have found the enough number of people they need, they won’t need you anymore. It’s a huge financial loss on your part if you were not able to answer their call.

If company picked you then you will be asked for some pre- screen questions to make sure that you are qualified. For example, if they are hosting a focus group regarding on beef soup, they will check in advance that you eat beef. There are times that they may want to include only those in a certain age range then they will check your date of birth.

Your contact person will also make sure that you are available to join on a specific date and time and give you the location information. Focus groups pay so well that it is worth rescheduling your other plans just to participate.

Online surveys: Getting back your payment

Monday, March 21st, 2011

Online surveysLast week, we’ve talked about online surveys that ask for payment before you’re able to access the surveys they offer. As stated in the article, you should always be careful when it comes to shelling out your money for any service. Always remember to weigh the pros and cons before paying for online surveys.

But let’s say you’ve already paid a company but never get paid surveys you qualify for. Is there still a way to get your money back?

If you feel you’ve been scammed or that you’re not getting what you’ve paid for, then follow these steps to reclaim your money:

  • Contact the paid survey company and ask for your money back.
  • Call your credit card company and dispute the charge.
  • Post your story at several work at home forums.
  • Contact the appropriate authorities.
  • You can also file a dispute if you’ve paid via Paypal, Clickbank, or other similar means.

Credit card companies are able to liaise directly with the paid survey company in question and pressure them to have the money returned to you. This is part of every credit card service so they should be able to correct the situation. Filing a dispute contains paperwork and may take some time, but you will most likely get a full refund.

Posting your story on work at home forums can also help warn others about the company. It’s also possible that you may also learn about other people who have had the same or a similar experience. When telling your story, make sure to keep it factual to protect yourself.

As always, the most trustworthy online surveys don’t ask for payment at all, but if ever you do pay for something and don’t get what you were promised, there are still ways to protect yourself and others.

Online Surveys: What fees are involved?

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

Online surveysFor online surveys, there will always be a Terms and Conditions page that you would want to read through before you sign up for their service. Because some companies might charge a fee, you should check if there’s a 30 day money-back guarantee and a contact number in case any questions about the service arise.

Most reputable companies wouldn’t charge you with their online surveys. However, if you are thinking of paying a paid survey company, remember to be cautious and always consider the following:

  • What exactly are you paying for?
  • Did you research on this paid survey company gives genuine paid surveys?
  • What are people in the forums saying about this company?
  • Is there a way to get your money back?
  • How long is it going to take before you’re able to earn the fee back in profits?
  • Is it worth your money?

Sign Up Fees

So the company is asking for your money before you can take their paid surveys? Be sure to research on the company before you spend money on them. The last thing you’d want is to get little to no surveys for what you paid them for. What have the on line surveys for cash message board members been saying about that paid survey company? Was it worth the fee they paid and how long were they able to earn their money back?

Fees for Specific Surveys

Some surveys request for a fee, especially if it’s a two-part paid survey where a sample is involved. For example, certain paid survey companies will ask for you to pay a fee and then reimburse it once you’ve completed the survey to ensure that you’ll complete it. However, don’t automatically assume that your fee will be reimbursed. It’s a good idea to read the terms and conditions before paying anything, and make sure that you’re not paying more than what you’ll be earning for a survey!

Never Pay the Following Fees!

Whatever happens, never pay for the following:

  • Training fees. No one can train you to have an opinion, and all you really need to complete surveys are basic computer skills. Any paid survey company that requires you to undergo training is most likely a scam.
  • Lists of other companies you can sign up with. Never pay a company for a list of other companies, because they’re more likely than not just trying to make money off of you using affiliate marketing. You can just ask around on paid survey message boards for legitimate survey companies.
  • Other fees you might not be comfortable with. If you don’t feel like paying a certain company for something, then don’t do it. There are many other companies who will let you register and complete surveys for them for free.

But what happens when you pay a fee and then discover that you’re not getting what you’ve been promised? Next week, we’re going to discuss how to get your money back from these types of companies for online surveys.
